Yoda and the Lariat

“Long, long ago in a galaxy far, far away.” Hey, it worked for Star Wars perhaps it will work for the trilogy, Summits, Canyons and PlateausSummits is near completion and the thought did occur that the personal and geographical history of two primary families leading up to the events in the trilogy was of equal interest, and just maybe fascinating foundation. Thus the prequels, three to be exact, that we have now been dubbed the Three-quels.

As is the trilogy, these three-quels are western romance based in fact and woven into fiction. Some of the personalities are fashioned after actual ancestors of the two leading characters. Some are not. It is interesting creative exercise and character study to go backwards into history and genealogy, pull facts to interlace with the fiction, and carefully stitch together past and present.

I am a big fan of Star Wars. I’m certain that brings amusement to many.   A rancher guy in a cowboy hat who watches Wookies and Vader. In my opinion, however, Star Wars was a story of generations, conflict, and how the actions of surrounding energies and those who come before us influence who we are, what we become, and how we react to the world around us. Star Wars is a tale of our spirituality which emanates from the Force, or energy of the universe and those collective spirits who preceded us into the afterlife.

Special effects notwithstanding, the three-quels delves into the past of the Trilogy’s two main characters, Sierra and Rafe, and leads us to the beginning of their adventure as their lives collide and crash together with a force neither can explain nor understand, but was pre-destined more than a century and a half before.
